Iowa State Collaborates with Iowa School for the Deaf for ‘Poetry in Motion’
Poetry in Motion this year fostered a creative and collaborative project that bridged not only differences in language and culture, but artistically brought together the senses of sight and sound.

ISU Students Take Home Four Prizes in Annual Competition
ISU students entered the Thirteenth Cross-University Chinese Language Performance Competition/Talent Show with four skits on Saturday, April 27, 2013. Of the 24 skits from six participating schools, including University of Iowa, Drake University, Winona State University and Grinnell College, 9 were awarded. ISU students took home 4 of the 9 prizes. “Hua Mulan” by Chin 102 students Jessica Yehle, Anuradha Gore, Amy Rasmussen, Connor Kocek, Kayla Gallik, Ashlee Fredericksen, Dustin Duong, Casey Dague and Michael Chapman won a Third prize; “Saving Me From the Dusty World” by Chin 202 students Neil Gerstein, Gavin Young, Arielle Czalbowski, Chelsea Schmidt, Elmer Tse and Lea Johannsen also won a Third prize. “Meeting My Girl Friend’s Parents” by Chin 102 students Gibson Richard, Springer Katherine, Ott Erin and Hudson Kristina won a Second prize. “Amusing Culture Encounter” by Chin 302 students Rebecca Hampton, Aaron O’Brien, Daniel Hoebelheinrich, Jonathan Ellis and Nick Juelsgaard won the only First prize. Let’s celebrate our students. They have made ISU proud!
