Stacy Lindshield is an Academic Adviser for Undergraduate Anthropology majors and a Lecturer in Anthropology. She teaches several undergraduate and graduate courses in general and biological anthropology. As an adviser and instructor, she aims to share her professional experience with students wanting to pursue a career in anthropology. More broadly, she aims to help Iowa State students recognize the importance of anthropological knowledge to everyday life.

In addition to instruction and advising, Stacy is an anthropological primatologist. Her research examines the intersections between behavior, ecology, nutrition, and conservation. Stacy is the co-director of a long-term study of savanna chimpanzee ecology (Project MARS: Mount Assirik Research Site) located in Niokolo-Koba National Park, Senegal. She also serves as research director at the Monkey Bridge Project, an organization that aims to conserve and study spider monkeys, capuchin monkeys, and howler monkeys in the Jairo Mora Sandoval Gandoca-Manzanillo Mixed National Wildlife Refuge in southeastern Costa Rica. These research projects give Iowa State students the opportunity to gain fieldwork experience. At the undergraduate level, students may participate in the primate behavior field school (ANTHR 445) in Costa Rica, and graduate students may conduct their thesis projects at these sites for the Anthropology M.A. program.
