Bio

Marta Vessoni-Lence is an Associate Teaching Professor of Spanish in the World Languages and Cultures Department at Iowa State University, and a certified ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) Tester.

Marta is the Advisor for the Spanish Club, a student-run organization that provides an environment outside the classroom to converse, participate in activities and meet other Spanish-loving ISU students. She is the Co-Director of “ISU Global Internships and Language” Summer Program in Cuenca, Ecuador. She received her Pharmacy degree from the University of Buenos Aires in 1994 and an M.A from Iowa State University in Linguistics, Spanish & Education in 2010.

She is interested in the elaboration of aural and visual texts for language learning instruction as well as the development of authentic-like materials to improve language learner’s listening comprehension.
