Because working internationally is more than just business
Professional work doesn’t happen in a bubble but in a broader socio-political context. Your career will thrive if you have a better understanding of current events, historical precedent, cultural expectations, and – of course – language.
Why do LCP with your major in business?

Meet your LCP Ambassador
Jazmin Chavez
Business Management, Spanish LCP
& International Studies
Hi! My name is Jazmin Chavez, and I am a sophomore in business management, Spanish LCP, and international studies. I am originally from Oskaloosa, Iowa. I am a member of the Latino Student Initiates, STA community, and one of the Spanish WLC ambassadors this year. I am a native Spanish speaker and have always loved the Spanish language, so when I received an email from Alissa the summer before my freshman year about possibly majoring in Spanish LCP, I knew I had to know more about the program! I love how perfectly it fits with my business and international studies majors. I was able to study abroad in Valencia, Spain, this past summer, and it was a truly unforgettable experience. It helped me immensely by allowing me to experience a different culture, and it allowed me to broaden my Spanish vocabulary. If you are interested in majoring/minoring in a foreign language, the LCP program, studying abroad, or anything Spanish-related, please feel free to email me or come to my office hours (Thursdays, 2-3 pm in the LSRC), and we can talk further!
