Where cultures meet conversation

WLC offers culture and language courses and is home to over 20 academic disciplines. A WLC major or minor fits seamlessly with any other major at Iowa State.

Research

Department faculty members are active researchers, and they excel at bringing their research into the classroom. Graduate and undergraduate students have opportunities to work with and learn from innovative and interdisciplinary scholars with research that is both global and local.

What I love the most about it is how interactive learning about ancient cultures can be, as classes are almost never just sitting down for a lecture to take notes and leave, you almost always have a hand in your own learning while in class.

Studied abroad in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland in 2022.
