Bio
My research focuses on the sociolinguistic aspect of contact-induced features in Portuguese and Spanish. My recent work investigates the typological influences of Niger-Congo languages, particularly Yorùbá and Bantu, on Afro-Brazilian Portuguese and Afro-Hispanic varieties. This includes the impact on morphosyntactic structures such as ditransitives and negation patterns. I am also co-editing an edited volume, Afro-Iberian Languages: Contact and Sociohistory (Language Science Press), which introduces several Afro-varieties of Portuguese and Spanish.
