I teach Spanish, Film and International Studies courses. My research and publications have focused on 20th and 21st Century Latin American historical fiction and Latin American cinema. My most recent publication dealt with Brazilian author Ana Miranda’s historical novel O retrato do rei. I am currently working on an article whose working title is “Keeping the Faith: Material Culture and Resistance in Luiz Antonio de Assis Brasil’s Breviário das terras do Brasil. I am also planning a project in Film Studies tentatively titled: “Cinema for a Global Village: The Films of Walter Salles.”
